Good Negativeness

Everything in life usually has a positive and negative side to it, right? (Please correct me if I'm wrong. But I'll still be stubborn! Ha ha!)

Let me give you an example. I broke my leg (which I did, sometime ago :D) so I couldn't play soccer (f.y.i: I am playing soccer week in, week out. Training). And because of that, I was forced not to play soccer for 2 months. What a killer lah! 2 months is equivalent to a few zillions days, ok? I did try to look after myself during that period of time, but didn't care for my broken leg properly (lol!) And when I finally recovered, I was seated on the bench (obviously) again. But at least I had a chance to play in the last 5 to 10 min of friendlies. It was like, "what crap can I play siah? Nuts lah..." I played the role of a supporting striker (player that connects midfield and strikers) and although my scoring chances were quite low, in those 10 min, I managed to score a goal - the winning goal - and finish the game with an assist. And because of that, I managed to secure my 1st team spot. If it wasn't for the broken leg, I most probably would have remained as a substitute.

Don't forget my main point despite my long example! What I am trying to say is that God will give you somethings that seems very negative but there is always a reason. He wants to test you, and when you pass, get yourself a bigger storage place to contain all the blessing He is going to give you! Is He cool or what!

*big sister says: his English Singlish was atrocious! I think if I typed out everything word-for-word that he wrote, no one will be able to understand a single thing*

The Great Escape

08-05-2008, I shall remember this day.

This morning, I woke up late for my Science exam paper (the paper to pull up my grades). I went to eat a slice of bread, waited for mummy to iron my clothes and packed my bag. Waited for mummy till papa scolded us for going down so late. Forgot my protractor for science, left my wallet and mobile phone in papa's car. And studied very little for science.

Only when I left papa's car, did I realize that I left my wallet and mobile phone inside, but he had already driven off, so I had no way of contacting him and telling him to turn back, so I just headed for class. And I found $1, and knew it was my ticket home. Nearing the exam, people told me that the protractor was needed, so I asked the class monitor if he had any extras to lend me. He brought 3 protractors, but refused to lend me one. Instead, he lent one of his to a girl (wa kao. Zhong se qing you siah...). I was furious and nearly wanted to resort to violence, but didn't. Then just before the exam, he lent me his protractor. I was on cloud 9 and nearly wanted to kiss and hug him. But I didn't (thank goodness. Gay siah...)

Before the exam, I felt that when I did the paper, it would be a spiritual battle (If I don't do well, papa may stop me from going to cell group and church), so I prayed.

Exam started, and I breezed through section A. But when I started section B, I got headaches, felt giddy, weak and felt like fainting. It was only 45min through the paper, and I still had 1hr 15min to go. So I prayed again, and continued doing my paper at a slower rate.

For Section C, I had to do 3 questions, but they said that doing 4 was better than 3, since they will mark all the questions, and take the 3 highest marks. The instructions stated that every question had to be done on a clean sheet of paper, but I did question 2 and 4 on the same paper as question 1 and 3.

Now I felt like I was going to die, being so hungry with my headache, giddiness and feeling weak. I finished my paper after 1hr 40min, rested a while, but still didn't feel ok. Not to forget, I didn't have my ez-link card on me, so I couldn't go home.

After the paper, I waited for my friend since it was still early. He wanted to eat breakfast, so we went to Jurong Entertainment Center. We talked as we walked over. When we reached Mac, it was very crowded, so we went to KFC instead. He wanted to treat me, but I refused, only to give in later on, so he bought 2 meals. I was rather afraid of eating KFC since I needed my fitness for soccer, so I only had 1 chicken, drink and the whipped potato. After the meal, I asked if he had small coins in exchange for my $1 coin, but he gave me $1.05 instead. When we reached Jurong East MRT, I remembered IMM had a free shuttle bus to Jurong Point, so I decided to take that instead.

On the way on Jurong Point, dark clouds gathered, but I still decided to walk home. The wind was so strong and the clouds so dark, you'd expect it to rain at any moment. So I prayed, and then made my way to the bus interchange, to the library, and then decided to run home as training for my fitness. As I was running, I felt pain in my right knee (dislocated in 2003), and my left foot where the ligament tore last year. But I continued running. My shoulders ached and my bag kept bouncing up and down, so I slowed to a jog and soon reached home. To me , these old injuries are nothing compared to what I faced last time.

This is really a day when everything went right, even though it looked bleak.
